PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Responsible for transport and delivery of product to assigned customers
  • Manage proof of delivery paperwork from customers
  • Complete routine mechanical checks of the vehicle
  • Follow appropriate safety procedures to transport goods
  • Develop and maintain positive company image in the industry to achieve the objective of overall growth
  • Assist lift drivers in unloading trailers
  • Perform related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Good driving record, and clean MVR's
  • Must be in possession of a CDL Class A License
  • Must be able to work under pressure
  • Must be able to pass a post-offer drug test, physical, and background check
  • Must have good knowledge of roads
  • Prior customer service experience is preferred

Part Time Dock Worker - Farmington Hills, MI

Alpha Baking Company, Inc. is now hiring for a part time dock worker for our Farmington Hills, MI depot.  We are looking for someone to work the evening shift (6:30 PM - 12:30 AM) Sunday - Monday, and Wednesday - Friday, with Tuesdays and Saturdays off.  The position will average more than 30 hours in the summer, and slightly less than 30 hours in the winter, and has an hourly salary of $12 an hour.  Alpha Baking Company, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.  Pre-employment screening required.  Must be eligible to work in this country.  M/F/V/H.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Sorting and stacking of empty bread trays
  • Unloading of incoming pallets and bread tray stacks from the bakeries
  • Reloading the trucks with stacks of empty bread trays
  • Building orders for individual stores
  • Keeping the depot work space clean and organized

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Must be able to work in varying conditions (heat in the summer, cold in the winter)
  • Must be able to stand, crouch, turn, bend, and twist repeatedly during the shift
  • Must be able to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly 
  • Must be able to use a hand dolly and pallet jack

EXPERIENCE (YEARS/TYPE) 

  • At least 1 year of dock experience is preferred, but not necessary

Route Salesperson

Maintenance Supervisor

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Supervise plant maintenance personnel.
  • Responsible for keeping machinery and support systems operating at maximum efficiency.
  • Follow, maintain and evaluate preventive maintenance (PM) program and schedule.
  • Administer “Red Tag” program to monitor adherence to food safety goals through the maintenance, sanitation and quality verification steps for all maintenance work performed in food safety risk areas.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with all other departments.
  • Train and cross-train mechanics in performing a wide range of both, mechanical and electrical repairs on a range of equipment.
  • Required to come in during off shifts if needed for breakdowns and must be available to be contacted during off hours.
  • Complete project jobs from preparing BOM list to completed job.
  • Ensure all mechanics, visitors, contractors, and all other Employees on the assigned shift are following all Company and OSHA rules relating to safety, GMPs, security, and PPE policies and guidelines to keep the plant in compliance.
  • Ensure all mechanics are following all EPA rules and regulations.
  • Responsible for keeping the shop and all maintenance areas clean and in good condition.
  • Administer disciplinary action in accordance with Company policy where needed.
  • Responsible for isolating repetitive line problems, working with the line leaders, Manager and Chief Engineer to come to a proper solution.
  • Notify the Plant, Chief Engineer and Managers in a timely manner of all pertinent issues.
  • Notify the Quality Assurance Manager of any potential food safety risk.
  • Responsible for scheduling work for all maintenance personnel on the shift.
  • Communicate and administer all Company policies and procedures consistently.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.  

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Education:  

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Skills

  • Electrical – better than average troubleshooting knowledge of 3 phase 480VAC, control circuits of 110VAC and 24DC, AB PLCs
  • Welding – able to weld with TIG and stick
  • Cutting - torch, band saw, grinder, plasma cutter.
  • Fabricating – able to fabricate simple guards, covers, catch pans, etc.
  • Drilling/ Milling – knowledge of use: power drills, dill press, mill and lathe machines
  • MS Office – fluent in MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word.
  • Good communication and leadership skills

Experience (Years/Type): 

  • 3 years of experience in a manufacturing setting
  • 3 years of prior Supervisory experience
  • Better than average knowledge of maintenance functions such as electrical, electrical controls, PLCs,  plumbing, conveyors, motors/gearboxes, read schematics/blueprints

  • Respond to breakdowns and failures on the plant floor.
  • Troubleshoot and correct equipment.
  • Perform electrical, plumbing, pneumatic and hydraulic tasks.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on plant equipment in a thorough and safe manner.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and management
  • Work in team environment or independent.
  • Train production employees as well as other mechanics and be willing to be trained by other mechanics.

Education:  

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
